CREATE A BECOMING BOARD
I stumbled across this idea on Instagram and it immediately clicked: a Becoming Board.
Think vision board — but less about big, shiny goals and more about what you want your everyday to feel like. Instead of pasting up pictures of a dream house or an ambitious career move, you fill your board with images that reflect your ideal daily rhythm. Not your highlight reel — your real reel.
When I made mine, I included sunshine, time with people I love, books, coffee, being in nature in all weather (but let’s be real — no rainy days made the cut), laughter, and quiet time. It's less about “achieving” something and more about remembering what matters to me when life gets loud.
One tip I loved: choose images you could realistically recreate. Not because you have to — but because they’re already within reach. That’s the beauty of it. This isn’t about some distant version of me. It’s about the life I’m gently shaping now, moment by moment.
Of course, life happens (hello laundry, emails, and everything else life throws at you), but even pausing to stand in a sunbeam for five minutes can feel like I’m stepping into the life I envisioned for myself.
📌 Place your Becoming Board where you’ll see it often. Let it quietly guide you back to yourself.
A little extra inspiration:
Research in positive psychology shows that visualizing our ideal day-to-day experiences (rather than far-off goals) can increase motivation and well-being.
Studies on mental contrasting — imagining a desired future while acknowledging present realities — suggest it helps build sustainable habits and resilience.
